Hope and Healing!

I want to welcome you to my website ... ~Lisa

Trauma leaves us feeling isolation but Hope can be found

Trauma and PTSD

Emotional and psychological trauma stems from deeply distressing events that shatter your sense of safety. These can include direct threats to life, abuse, or any experience that leaves you feeling overwhelmed or alone, disrupting your emotional well-being.

Sadness, loneliness, lack of motivation, isolation from others are signs. But Hope and Healing is available

Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety can feel like overwhelming worry, fear, or dread that disrupts everyday life. You might notice restlessness, a racing heart, or trouble focusing. Depression, on the other hand, brings deep sadness, a loss of joy in things you once loved, and a sense of hopelessness. It can show up as fatigue, changes in appetite, or sleepless nights.

Having someone alongside you helps you deal with Grief and Loss in a positive and healing way.

Grief

Coping with loss can feel overwhelming, and while society often expects quick healing, grief has no set timeline. Connecting with a compassionate listener can provide comfort and support. I’m here to help you process your emotions and guide you through your unique grieving journey.

Have substances damaged your life and those around you? Help is available.

Alcohol and Substance Disorder

Supporting individuals in finding motivation to stop using or maintain early sobriety can spark hope. Trauma is often a root cause of substance use, and through EMDR, we can work to process and heal those underlying wounds.

Lisa Adams MA LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor since 2011

I’ve always had a heart for helping people, but my journey to becoming a therapist took a few twists. I kicked off my career teaching kindergarten and first grade, spending seven years with the sweetest little learners. After that, I took a break to raise my own kids before diving back into grad school. Part of that journey included an internship at a psychiatric hospital, where I worked with folks facing serious mental health and addiction challenges. Seeing them find healing through therapy and medication was incredibly rewarding and set me on my path.

In 2011, just two days after graduating from Lindenwood, I faced a heartbreaking loss—my younger brother, who struggled with mental health and addiction, died by suicide. That moment cemented my passion for helping others find hope and navigate life’s toughest moments.

To me, therapy is all about self-care and building a connection that feels safe and empowering. I love working with people to find real, practical ways to tackle life’s challenges—through open conversations, processing emotions, and embracing change. My approach is all about teamwork, meeting you where you are with respect, compassion, and zero judgment in a warm, supportive space.
